amelia earhart

I subbed til noon and paid my quarterly taxes at the IRS office. I stopped by Target and bought a navy blue sweater and a jar of ground flax seeds. I used the weight machines and walked a mile on the indoor track at the Y. I finished Amelia Earhart by Doris Rich. 899 pages. I'm now an expert since that's the third book I've read about her. And the most interesting.

taking a break

from walking. This is the second day in a row that I haven't hit any trail, except up the hill to walk Sam. When I feel this way I don't force it. I'm keeping busy, just not walking. The baby deer must have connected to it's momma because they found their way into my front yard early this morning and helped themselves to the flowers that I had planted in my stone basket. So that became my first project- to replace the eaten-off flowers with new ones. The nursery has them marked down to half price this week so I wasn't too upset. Tomorrow I need to make my way to the Federal Tax Office on the other side of town to make a quarterly payment. I'll be close to the Conservation Trail so I'll walk there. BTW, the weather here is beautiful!

pray hard for the knuckleheads

You know it's not about you! It's about the future of this country. Stop blaming President Obama. I'm thankful that we finally have someone intelligent enough to lead us through this mess (think George Bush and his cronies here). Frankly I am appalled that I am asked to pay taxes five times a year (quarterly plus twice in April) while some fat-cat oil executive pays little to nothing. I am a substitute teacher for God's sake who will never collect my fair share of Social Security because of GPO/WEP. So just vote and get it done because that is why you were elected in the first place.
