It was such a pretty morning I walked the entire 5.01 miles in the park. And I consider it my lucky 🍀 day as I found two shiny dimes while I was walking 🚶♀️ back to my car. I also made it to my noon yoga 🧘♀️ class. We finally have a sunny summer day 🌞 and I saw my favorite butterfly, a little yellow sulfur.

giving grace
I’m missing yoga 🧘♀️ all week. Because of Braille books 📖 commitments with friends and funerals I just haven’t made the trip across town. I also took a break from any walking. For me, giving grace to others is easy but giving grace to myself is a work in progress.

In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

downtown
Today I walked 5.03 miles, part of it downtown. I also made it to my yoga 🧘♀️ class this morning. It is such a pretty day; it’s glorious 🥰. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be rainy again. Boo, we need this flood water 💦 to dry up!

Today is a beautiful spring turned summer day. I walked 5.54 miles and also made it to my Monday noon yoga 🧘♀️ class. Later I sprayed my roses 🌹 watched a movie and ate a bowl of blueberries with whipped cream 🥰
Last week I walked 49.23 miles. Good for me 👍

good news/bad news
After yoga 🧘♀️ I walked 5.06 miles on the Greenway trail. The temperature 🤒 was 71 degrees and breezy. I love the feeling when the wind 💨 is at my back pushing me along; I pretend I’m a bird 🦅 I really do.
The good news is that the black spot treatments have been helping my rose 🥀 bushes. The bad news is that mama deer 🦌 had rosebuds for a midnight snack.

yoga and roses
It felt good to get back to yoga today. Mostly women, a few men, we are a little tribe lifting spirits while sweating together. I always try to do a few chores each day after exercising and this afternoon I sprayed my rose bushes for black spot. Because of the very wet spring, all eight bushes have it, even the new Henry Fonda. This is the third treatment (spraying) and it’s therapeutic for me too. And I also vacuumed because I was feeling extra energetic 👍

the river
This morning I walked/ran 5.05 miles in the park again. The last couple of miles I ran in the rain. The weather was 79 degrees and really windy. It was actually refreshing but I got scared about a tree 🌳 falling on me. My favorite indoor track is closed because the tornado 🌪 blew down a wall so I’m going to have to be creative for awhile. When I got home 🏡 I had my favorite lunch: half a banana 🍌 with peanut butter and a vanilla Yoplait yogurt. Tomorrow I’m going back to yoga 🧘♀️ Yay 😁
My weekly mileage totaled 41.38 miles.

the flood
I walked a total of 5.25 miles today, indoor and also at Riverside. Thank you city street department for cleaning and picking up limbs and debris. Also, we are pretty sure our little garden across the river is under water so goodbye tomatoes 🍅 green beans, corn 🌽 peppers 🌶 radishes, sunflowers 🌻 and zinnias. Maybe next year. Please God, with the flood and the tornado happening almost simultaneously our little city could use some sweet relief.

devastation
This morning I walked 4.13 miles at Riverside Park. There was debris from the tornado 🌪 everywhere. There was a huge tree limb which I had to walk around. We were very close to the actual path of the tornado and we consider ourselves very fortunate. When the siren 🚨 went off we didn’t even go downstairs as we thought it was further away. I didn’t have the ❤️ to drive to yoga 🧘♀️ this morning so I skipped it. Some of the streets I normally take are closed anyway. Our house 🏡 is fine and although we have big trees behind us they are still standing. No tv service but that should be fixed tomorrow morning.
Earlier this morning we took some roses out to my brother’s grave and tried to drive by the house 🏡 I grew up in but that street was closed to traffic.

roses, another view
Today I walked 4.10 miles on the Greenway trail. The newer part was really muddy because of all the rain last night. Our rain gauge measured 3.9 inches this morning and my flowers are pretty beat up 🤕 but they’ll come around with some hot 🥵 weather. I also made it to yoga 🧘♀️ this morning, my first class of the week.

More thunderstorm warnings so I cut more rosebuds. Braille was fun. We laughed a lot and made six 📖 books assembly line style. We used to produce eight books in the same amount of time and can’t figure out why our number is down 🤔. I walked five miles total today and also started to purge my closet. That’s something I kind of enjoy doing on a rainy/gloomy day.

appointments and such
Appointments and parties 🎉 prevented me from walking 🚶♀️ this weekend. Mileage from last week totaled 40.50 miles. Today I saw my dentist 🦷 and also my cardiologist 💕 and walked four miles. Tomorrow I am making Braille 📚 books so no yoga till Wednesday. I did practice my balance in the doctors waiting room.
It has started to storm ☔️ this afternoon so I cut some roses to enjoy on my kitchen windowsill.

mileage
Today I walked 5.03 miles. Yesterday I walked 4.52 miles. I made it to yoga 🧘♀️ classes both days. Warm weather has finally arrived, everything is green and beautiful. My knee still feels good but I’m slightly concerned 😦 about the clicking sound it has started to make while walking 🚶I think I’ll do some research online and see what kind of diagnosis I come up with.
On another subject, my flowers 💐 are looking great 👍.

miles, knees & roses
Today I ran a little over four miles on the indoor track. It was still very cool and cloudy ⛅️ outside and I wasn’t feeling it. My average pace for my indoor run was 13.40 per mile which isn’t too bad. My knee feels great 👍 and I’m glad I took off some time last week to just heal. There is a reason why doctors earn big $$.
I fed my roses 🌹 this afternoon and noticed my Henry Fonda is getting ready to bloom.

mileage
My mileage totaled 5.05 miles today. Mostly outside. The sky is cloudy ⛅️ but in a good way. I made it to yoga 🧘♀️ this morning. I love 💕 yoga and the way it feels when I finish up. I definitely have a yoga butt.
I discovered our first turtle 🐢 this morning around six when I opened the door to get the paper. He was pretty much a grandpa, I could tell. I resisted the urge to pick him up or even run in for my phone 📱 to get a pic. He’s got a right to be undisturbed. I hope 🤞 I meet up with him again. Hopefully he’ll make a nest in my rose 🌹 garden. I’d like that.

back at it
My knee feels good. Yoga 🧘♀️ class went well. The weather was cloudy and rainy this morning so my 5.56 miles were a mixture of treadmill and downtown track. This worked for me as I had library books 📚 to return. My knee is still making clicking noises occasionally when I’m walking 🚶♀️ but it’s not causing me any pain and doctor 👨⚕️ says very little arthritis so that’s a good thing. 😋

azalea bush
I took this pic before the big storm and four inches of rain 🌧 last night. I am taking a break from all exercising and yoga 🧘♀️ for the rest of the week. Seems I have a cyst which will go away on its own with medication and a shot in my kneecap 😝.
Since I use this blog to track my mileage I don’t know 🤔 if I’ll record anything till next week. I’ve got a paint 🎨 by number and numerous books 📚 to finish up. And I love to waste my time watching movies.

cats and dogs
Yoga 🧘♀️ this morning then walking on the Greenway. A mile in, it really started raining 🌧 hard. Like cats and dogs so I started for my car. I’ve gotten caught in the rain before but I was more concerned for my car 🚘 as it was thundering and little hailstones were coming down. I finished 5.63 miles mostly at home watching Game of Thrones. My total miles for April: 139.60 miles.
I have an early morning appointment tomorrow and am anxious for a diagnosis.

weekend mileage
I walked a total of 9.57 miles this weekend. I finished five loads of laundry, watched two movies and a ballgame ⚾️ And attended Saturday evening church. The weather has been cool and very windy. I noticed my first hummer at the feeder this morning and Whitey sunning himself 🌤 taking in all in.
I’ve decided to call the doctor 👨⚕️ about my knee tomorrow.

henry fonda
I lost my favorite rose 🌹 bush over the winter but we were able to find the same kind at the Amish nursery this week. The blooms are such a buttery yellow. That’s why I’m hoping for days of hot weather; I’m anxious to see it in full bloom.
Besides yoga 🧘♀️ I walked 5.13 miles today. My left knee has started to whisper to me. Not a sharp pain or even a soreness but a definite tenderness. I hate to call the doctor because that means I acknowledge that something doesn’t feel right. If it’s still tender on Monday, I’ll call.

daily miles
It was another overcast morning. I walked 5.50 miles early and made it to yoga.
Later the sun 🌞 came out and I planted most of my patio containers. It turned out to be a nice day.

the drycreek
It has been a drippy day weather wise so I walked my entire five miles at home on my treadmill. I wasn’t trying to break any records; my average pace was 14.52.
Later I made it to my yoga 🧘♂️ class, bought 🌺🌸 for my patio containers at my favorite garden/nursery center and stopped by Sam’s Club. They have the best blueberries and blackberries in town.

a bit of joy
The weather is decidedly cooler today but I was able to walk most of my miles outside with a sweatshirt. I did clock ⏰ two miles around six this morning on my treadmill watching Netflix. And I made it to yoga 🧘♂️ class along with everybody else in town; it was packed!
My total mileage today: 5.22 miles. I saw my first hummingbird 🌳 of the season this morning, a ruby throated sweetheart.

mushroom hunting
I got some walking 🚶 in yesterday walking on the Katy hunting mushrooms 🍄.
It was a glorious, warm Easter 🐣 Sunday. Along with the mushrooms we also found four different snakes 🐍 but left them alone.
Today to commemorate Earth Day we are planting our garden in our little plot across the river. I will miss my yoga class 🧘♀️ and plan to walk later in the day. My mileage from last week totaled 42.13 miles.

Today was another very windy day. After yoga 🧘♀️ I walked indoors on the track and finished on the treadmill. My total was 5.50 miles, my average pace for the indoor track was 12.22 per mile. Amazing 😉!
I also do my grocery shopping 🛒 on Friday.

Braille
Today I spent the morning volunteering with my Lutheran lady friends making Braille books to be distributed to blind children all over the world. This is something I have been doing for years. We laugh a lot as we construct these books assembly style. I missed my favorite yoga class but still managed to walk four miles on the Greenway trail.

snow
The greedy squirrels 🐿 ate all of the suet yesterday and now we have angry, hungry birds wanting a free snack.
Yesterday was an off day as I hung with friends most of the day. This morning I lifted weights and ran/walked 🏃♀️four miles on the indoor track. My average pace for this run was 13.53 minutes. How is that even possible for a sixty plus year old woman 👵 with a pacemaker?

More about suet cakes
We have gone thru three boxes of suet cakes this winter; this is the last one. When it is gone, we will replace it with a hummingbird feeder.
Today after yoga 🧘♀️ I decided to run intervals indoors as the wind was freaky again. I ran five miles in 68 minutes, with an average pace of 13.40 minutes.

squirrels
I have nicknames for the squirrels that live in our backyard. Bushy Tail, Nutty Buddy and Whitey Hertzog because of his white ears. They like to help themselves to the suet feeder. We used to grease it up and they really hated that because it made their fur sticky; now we just let them have at it.
Today was a crazy windy day so I walked a combination of treadmill and indoor track for a total of 5.20 miles. Also yoga and weight lifting 🏋️.

nature
The trees are just beginning to bud out. We’ve had lots of cold weather and a very late Spring. I love walking past this huge moss covered rock; this pic just does not do it justice. I also appreciate a water element while walking.
So that was yesterday. Today I walked on the Greenway and Riverside, along the muddy Mo. I walked 5.33 miles, a yoga class and a trip to Walmart. We’re having stuffed chicken 🐓 breasts tonight.

All Wrapped Up
It’s getting a makeover but the rain and high winds we’ve had lately has not helped. Today is a grand day, after yoga 🧘♀️ I drove to the Runge and walked four miles. A big ass wild turkey gobbled right in front of me but I was too slow on the draw and couldn’t get my phone out of my pocket quick enough to get a pic.
